Shorter Assignments

Most of the assignments for this course consist of short pieces of writing that you will submit to your classwork document or in other ways as instructed.

Submissions for these assignments will earn full credit if they respond fully to the prompt (meaning they do what the assignment asks them to do) and are submitted on time.

The work will earn 60% of full credit for any reasonable completion of the assignment, 20% for responding fully to the prompt, and 20% for timely submission. The credit for "responding fully" can be earned late; if I see anything missing from a submission, I will make a comment in my grading that points out what needs to be added for the student to receive that credit.

As explained in the late work policy, any assignment for the course needs to be submitted within a week of the original deadline to earn credit. If I point out a missing element, that credit can be made up within a week of my sharing the comment; just make the necessary changes and email me to let me know you have done so.

The classwork documents will be graded by taking the percentage of points earned and applying a conventional grade scale:

• A: 93.5 or above
• A-: 90-93.4
• B+: 86.5-89.9
• B: 83.5-86.4
• B-: 80-83.4
• C+: 76.5-79.9
• C: 73.5-76.4
• C-: 70-73.4
• D+: 66.5-69.9
• D: 63.5-66.4
• F: 63.4 or below
