Final Project Presentation

Our last week of classes will be a festival of presentations about your final projects. For this assignment, you will give a short presentation (three to four minutes) that includes at least five slides, in addition to a title slide at the beginning and a sources/acknowledgements slide at the end. In the presentation, you will describe your final project and explain how it emerges from the work we have done together this semester.

You are welcome to use photographic or artistic images that you create yourself or borrow (with citation) from authentic sources. Do not use image-generation software to create images for this presentation.

You will complete the project by giving your presentation to the class and submitting the slide deck to me. When you do that, you will complete this submission form, which helps ensure that you have understood and met the expectations of the assignment.

Creative Constraints

Creativity comes from constraint! Here are the constraints of this presentation:

  1. You will prepare the text of your presentation carefully but not read it directly. You may use note cards, but they should have only a few key words, not sentences that you read.
  2. The first slide will include your title, your name, and the speaking situation (as in some version of Remaking the Book Final Presentation, Fall 2026).
  3. At least one slide will have an image but no text.
  4. At least one slide will have text but no image (other than the presentation theme).
  5. At least one slide will combine text and image.
  6. The final slide should present your sources and acknowledge any other assistance you received in making your presentation, using the bibliography formatting of Chicago NB style.
  7. You should also provide a printed outline of key points for your presentation, so that anyone who is unable to hear (or has difficulty hearing) the audio can follow the shape of the presentation. Preparing such an outline is good practice in making presentations as accessible as possible.
  8. At the end of your presentation, you will make eye contact with your audience and say “thank you” to let them know that it’s time to acknowledge your good work with applause.

Your audience for this assignment is your actual audience: the Tutorial class.
