Shorter Assignments

Most of the assignments for this class involve readings and short, written responses to those readings. I have kept the amounts of reading and writing manageable to give you the time to focus on each task. I ask that you do the readings directly, without the aid of summaries that you do not create yourself. In the writing, you may use word processors that suggest minor alterations of spelling and punctuation, but doing the work of shaping your own words and sentences is essential to the learning process, so I ask you to choose your own words and shape your own sentences as you write.
