Midsemester Self-Evaluations

For this assignment, you will write me a letter of approximately two pages in which you look back on and evaluate your work in Tutorial so far (papers, presentations, shorter assignments, class discussions, day-to-day thinking and exploration). In writing that letter, consider these questions, which are the ones we use throughout the semester:

• Where are you seeing yourself make progress in this class?
• Where do you see the need to push yourself to grow as a learner?
• Are you doing the best work you can do for the class? If not, what are the obstacles you face, and how can we talk about them?
• How are you becoming an important contributor to the intellectual community of the class?
• Are you gaining the skills of writing, reading, speaking, and discussion that you think you will need for the rest of your time at Grinnell? If not, how can we work together to help you gain those skills?

As you conclude your letter, considering what you have written, tell me what grade you think you have earned so far in Tutorial this semester.
